Last Ascent delivers a 2D pixel art platformer experience that follows the journey of a fallen knight named Cole Rosederu. After losing a war, the kingdom imprisons him and sentences him to death. On the final night before his execution, Cole hears a rumor: anyone who reaches the top of the tower will be granted pardon. Refusing to accept his fate, he chooses to fight back. Armed with courage and combat skills, Cole faces deadly traps and dangerous enemies on every floor of the tower in a desperate quest for freedom.

Players take control of Cole as he climbs through a variety of challenging levels. They must avoid hazards, outmaneuver enemies, and collect points to strengthen their chances of survival. With pixel art visuals inspired by Celeste and a dark, atmospheric world reminiscent of Dead Cells, Last Ascent invites players to endure, seek redemption, and rediscover hope in the darkest of places.
